Who we are

The Pennington Fire Company has proudly served the Hopewell Valley community since 1891, providing 100% volunteer fire and emergency response services to Pennington Borough, Hopewell Borough, Hopewell Township, and surrounding communities. Founded more than 130 years ago, the organization has evolved from a small local fire company into one of only a handful of fully volunteer fire departments remaining in Mercer County.

Throughout its history, generations of dedicated volunteers have answered the call to protect their neighbors, adapting to changing emergency response needs while maintaining a strong tradition of community service. Today, the Pennington Fire Company continues to uphold its mission of “Protecting the Heart of the Valley,” responding to hundreds of emergencies each year and remaining committed to preserving the volunteer fire service for future generations.
